Article Processing Charges Policy

Article Processing Charges Policy

1. Purpose

The International Journal of Marine Engineering Innovation and Research (IJMEIR) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support the publication and dissemination of scholarly research.

The APC contributes to editorial management, peer review administration, copyediting, typesetting, digital publishing, online hosting, and long-term digital archiving.

2. Article Processing Charge

The APC for each accepted article is:

IDR 1,650,000.00 or USD 100.00 per accepted article.

This fee covers online publication of articles of up to 10 pages.

The journal will announce any changes to the APC amount or page limit on its official website before the revised policy takes effect.

There are no hidden or additional publication charges beyond the stated APC, except where a revised policy is formally announced.

3. Payment Policy

The APC is payable only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication following the peer review process. IJMEIR does not charge submission fees or peer review fees.

Payment instructions will be provided to the corresponding author after acceptance. Payment must be made through the journal's designated payment channel, and authors must provide proof of payment as instructed by the editorial office.

Failure to complete payment may delay publication. However, APC payment does not influence the editorial decision regarding the manuscript.

4. Editorial Independence

All editorial decisions are based on academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance or preferential treatment. It does not influence:

  • The selection of reviewers or editors;
  • Peer review outcomes;
  • Acceptance or rejection decisions;
  • Publication scheduling.

The editorial process remains independent of financial considerations.

5. Waiver and Discount Policy

IJMEIR may consider full or partial APC waivers or discounts in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries;
  • Institutional partnerships or collaborative agreements;
  • Invited articles;
  • Special issue arrangements;
  • Other justified circumstances.

Waiver and discount requests must be submitted to the editorial office before or immediately after manuscript acceptance. Requests will be assessed individually and may require supporting documentation.

Approval is subject to editorial and administrative review. The outcome of a waiver or discount request does not affect the peer review process or editorial decision.

6. Refund Policy

APC payments are generally non-refundable once the production process has commenced.

Exceptions may be considered in cases involving:

  • Duplicate payments caused by technical or administrative errors;
  • Manuscript withdrawal resulting from an internal administrative error by the journal.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the journal's official contact address within 14 days of payment. Each request will be reviewed individually, and any approved refund will be processed in accordance with applicable institutional financial procedures.

Refunds will not be granted for author-initiated withdrawal after publication or for retractions resulting from ethical misconduct or author error.

7. Financial Transparency

IJMEIR is committed to transparent and responsible management of publication charges. APC revenue supports:

  • Editorial operations;
  • Publication and production services;
  • Digital infrastructure and platform maintenance;
  • Long-term preservation of scholarly content.

The journal does not engage in deceptive monetization practices or misleading claims regarding indexing or impact indicators.

The journal does not impose undisclosed publication charges beyond the stated APC. Any future changes to publication fees will be communicated through the official journal website.

8. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure consistency with institutional regulations and recognised good practices in scholarly publishing.

Revisions to APC amounts, page limits, payment procedures, waiver eligibility, or refund conditions will be published on the IJMEIR website.
