Abstract

This study discusses the modification of the structure of the Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) to be able to support the offshore drilling function by adding moonpool construction in the midship area. This modification aims to increase the operability of ships in Indonesian waters which have high oil and gas potential. The addition of a moonpool caused significant changes to the hull structure, so it was necessary to reanalyze the elongation strength of the ship. The analysis was carried out theoretically and numerically using the finite element method or FEM (Finite Element Method) to evaluate the response of the structure to various loading conditions such as full load, and operational, as well as wave sagging and hogging conditions. The results of the analysis include tension, deflection. which is then validated against the limits set by the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI). The results showed that despite the changes to the structure due to the addition of the moonpool, the ship's elongation strength was still within safe limits and met applicable regulations. This study contributes to the development of multifunctional OSV design and is expected to become a reference in the design of small scale drilling vessels in Indonesia.
