Abstrak

City of Palembang Boundary / Banyuasin Regency Boundary - Tanjung Api-Api Road is the main arterial road that connects Palembang with Tanjung Api-Api Port, one of the road sections that is frequently damaged is STA 60+450. The damage that occurs is a bumpy road which further causes potholes. It is found that the soil at the study site has a type of soft clay soil with high compressibility, low bearing capacity, and settlement potential. This road section is also passed by heavy vehicles transporting port logistics and agricultural products. An analysis is needed to determine whether the damage that occurs in the existing conditions is caused by the stability and the maximum ability of the embankment to bear the traffic loads so that it needs to be repaired and improved as a whole structure or no embankment stability problem so only needs to repair the pavement. two methods that can be used in the analysis of embankment stability modeling, namely the Limit Equilibrium Method and the Finite Element Method. Based on the results of modeling using both methods to obtain the value of the safety factor and maximum traffic load that can be supported by the existing road, it is found that this road section does not meet the requirements of class I roads, so it is necessary to repair and improve the overall embankment structure.
