Ethical Statement

Journal of Architecture & Environment is a peer-reviewed journal that adheres to high standards of ethical conduct in the publication process. This policy is based on the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and applies to all parties involved in publication: authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher, Center for Scientific Publication (Pusat Publikasi Ilmiah).

Ethical Responsibilities of Author

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original and that any use of others' work is properly cited or quoted. All manuscripts submitted to IPTEK The Journal of Architecture & Environment will undergo a similarity check by the editorial team using plagiarism detection software.
The maximum allowable similarity index is 15% (excluding bibliography and quoted material). Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision or rejected prior to review.

Multiple Submissions
Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is considered unethical and is not allowed.

Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence the outcomes or interpretation of their work. Such disclosures should be clearly stated in the Acknowledgements section of the manuscript.

Data Availability
Authors may be requested to provide raw or supporting data for editorial or peer review purposes. If required by the reviewers, such data should be submitted as Supplementary Files during the submission process. Authors are also expected to retain their research data for a reasonable period after publication to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

Corrections and Retractions
Authors must promptly inform the editor if a significant error is discovered post-publication, so a correction or retraction can be issued.

Editorial Responsibilities

Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts will be published based on quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Confidentiality
Editors must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share them with unauthorized parties.

Fair Review Process
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit without regard to authors’ personal characteristics or affiliations.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts in their own work without permission from the authors.

Proof and Final Review (Camera-Ready Manuscript)
Editors are responsible for providing the camera-ready version of an accepted manuscript to the corresponding author for final proofreading prior to publication. Authors are expected to review and approve this version carefully to ensure accuracy in content, formatting, and metadata.

Peer Reviewers' Responsibilities

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Reviewers assist editors in making publication decisions by providing constructive and critical feedback based on their area of expertise. Reviews should be conducted in alignment with the review form and guidelines provided by the editorial team. The input from reviewers is also intended to help authors improve the quality, clarity, and rigor of their manuscripts.

Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.

Objectivity and Constructive Feedback
Reviews should be conducted objectively and comments should be supported with clear arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant work not cited by the authors and report any suspected overlap or plagiarism.

Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts if they have conflicts of interest due to personal, professional, or financial relationships.
