Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

IJOCE publishes original articles on the scope of offshore and coastal engineering, science and technology. Articles are considered for publication with the condition that they have not been published or submitted for publication by other publishers.

Manuscript should be submitted online to IJOCE via the journal website. Manuscript will be reviewed by reviewers with the criteria of originality, significance, quality, and accuracy. Editorial board authorized to accept, reject, or suggest the authors to improve manuscripts.

Cover Letter should be submitted by the corresponding author, containing clear statement that the manuscript is original, free of plagiarism, has not been published elsewhere, convey the copyright for open access to IJOCE, and appropriately signed.

Corresponding Author is the author reponsible for communication with regards to the manuscript submission. Appropriate information should be given and written in the cover letter, including the full name (no abbreviation), affiliation, full address (completed with city, postcode, and country), phone, fax number, and e-mail address.

Language, manuscripts should be written in English.

Abstract, concise description (not more than 200 words) of the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions required. Keywords (not more than 6) should be provided below abstract, first keyword being the most important.

Formation, the manuscript should be composed with minimum six (6) full pages up to maximum eight (8) pages. The paper should comprise at least four (4) subtitles, namely: a) Introduction, b) Basic Theory and/or Methodology, c) Results and Discussions, d) Conclusions. Authors should prepare the manuscript in Microsoft Word and PDF according to the IJOCE Template which can be downloaded from this website.

Tables must be titled and numbered consecutively and positioned at the center. Descriptions and numbers inside the table should be typed with font size 9 or less (but they should be readable). Table’s background may be colored as necessary. Tables should be explained in the text as close to the tables as possible. Citation remark should be given by end of the label if the table is taken from a reference. 

Figures must be titled and numbered consecutively and positioned at the center. Illustrations contained in the figures including graphs, diagrams and photographs should be sharp, noise free, good contrast and good quality. Figure in color is acceptable. Figures should be adequately explained in the text, as close as possible to the figures. Citation remark by end of the title should be given if illustration in the figure is not developed by the author(s).

Revision, the manuscript suggested to be revised will be sent to the corresponding author along with the reviewer's notes. However, the author can provide rebuttal comments or suggestions.

References should be listed by end part of the manuscript in the style as exemplified below. Where available, DOI number for the references should be mentioned appropriately.
