Jurnal Penataan Ruang (JPR) is managed by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia. It provides a platform for sharing research in urban and regional planning locally and globally.
The journal publishes studies on diverse topics such as housing, urban development, regional economics, transportation, spatial modeling, disaster risk management, and urban environment. JPR aims to contribute knowledge that supports sustainable planning and development, addressing challenges faced by cities and regions worldwide.
Jurnal Penataan Ruang is published twice a year, in May and November. The journal was first published in 2006 (Vol. 1 No. 1). From 2006 to 2019, the registration and review processes were conducted offline. The migration to an online system began in 2017, and by 2020 (Vol. 15 No. 1), the entire process including registration, review, and publication was fully conducted online.

Follow these steps to submit your manuscript
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished works relevant to spatial planning. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and topics should align with the journal's focus.
Manuscripts should be in A4 format, using Times New Roman font size 10, single-column layout. Include at least four sections: Introduction, Research Methods, Results & Discussion, and Conclusion. Length should be 6–11 pages.
Cite a minimum of three scholarly sources using numbered citations in square brackets (e.g., [1]). Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools like Mendeley or Zotero. Up to six tables and six figures are allowed.
Use the journal's MS Word manuscript template available on the website when preparing your submission to ensure compliance with formatting standards.
Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Based on their feedback, manuscripts may be accepted, revised, or rejected. Required revisions must be addressed and resubmitted for further review.
