Author Guidelines

0 Authorship & Contributorship

1. General Principles of Authorship

  • Eligibility for Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the research process. This includes contributions to:
    • The conception and design of the research.
    • The acquisition of data.
    • The analysis and interpretation of data.
    • Drafting or critically revising the manuscript for intellectual content.
    • Final approval of the version to be published.
    • Accountability for all aspects of the research, ensuring that questions about the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
  • Order of Authors: The order of authorship should reflect the extent of each contributor's involvement in the research and writing process. The order should be agreed upon by all co-authors before submission, with the first author being the individual who has made the most significant contribution, and the corresponding author managing the submission and communications with the journal.
  • Corresponding Author: The corresponding author is the individual responsible for managing the manuscript submission process, including responding to reviewers’ comments, submitting the revised manuscript, and ensuring that all co-authors are in agreement with the manuscript content.

2. Contributor Acknowledgments

  • Acknowledgment of Non-Authors: Individuals who have made significant contributions to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the "Acknowledgments" section of the manuscript. These may include those who provided technical assistance, funding, or expert advice.
  • Funding Sources: All funding sources should be disclosed in the Acknowledgments section. This includes grants, scholarships, and financial support received to carry out the research.

3. Ghost and Guest Authorship

  • Ghost Authorship: Ghost authorship refers to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research but are not listed as authors. This practice is considered unethical, and ghost authors should be properly acknowledged.
  • Guest Authorship: Guest authorship refers to individuals who are listed as authors but have not made substantial contributions to the work. Guest authorship is also unethical, and only those who meet the criteria for authorship should be included.

4. Changes to Authorship

  • Addition or Removal of Authors: Any changes to the list of authors (e.g., adding or removing authors) after manuscript submission must be made in consultation with all authors and require their written agreement. These changes should be communicated to the journal and approved by the editorial team before publication.
  • Author Responsibilities: All authors are collectively responsible for the manuscript content. Any author who has not contributed sufficiently to the work should not be listed as an author.
1 Aims and Scope Compliance

Authors must ensure that their submission aligns with the journal's stated aims and scope. Manuscripts must demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, analytical depth, and clear scholarly contribution. Submissions that fall outside the scope or lack academic merit may be rejected during initial editorial screening.

2 Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles

All submissions must provide substantial academic value.

3 Submission Declaration

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The work is original and not previously published.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • All co-authors have approved the submission.
  • The research findings are accurate and have not been fabricated, falsified, or manipulated.
  • Any conflicts of interest are disclosed.
4 Manuscript Preparation

Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear, professional English or Indonesia. Authors are responsible for language quality prior to submission.

Structure of the Manuscript

A standard research article should include:

  1. Title
  2. Author names and affiliations
  3. Abstract (150–250 words)
  4. Keywords (3–6 keywords)
  5. Introduction
  6. Methods
  7. Results and Discussion
  8. Conclusion
  9. Acknowledgment (if applicable)
  10. References
5 Research Integrity and Ethics

The journal adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics.

Authors must ensure:

  • Proper citation and acknowledgment of all sources;
  • Originality of submitted work and absence of plagiarism;
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest;
  • Transparency in research methods and data reporting;
  • Ethical approval for research involving human or animal subjects, where applicable.

All submissions are screened for similarity prior to peer review.

Detailed ethical responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and editors are outlined in the journal's Publication Ethics policy. Authors are required to review and comply with that policy prior to submission.

This policy ensures the integrity and impartiality of the journal's editorial and review processes by addressing any conflicts of interest that could influence decisions about publication.

A conflict of interest arises when personal, financial, or professional relationships could affect, or be seen to affect, the impartiality of decisions related to manuscript submission, review, or publication.

1. Disclosure Requirements

  • Authors: Must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to their research or manuscript during submission.
  • Editors: Must avoid handling manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest. If a conflict arises, they must recuse themselves from the decision-making process.
  • Reviewers: Must declare any conflicts of interest when agreeing to review a manuscript. If a conflict is identified during the review, they must notify the editor and step down from the review.

2. Managing Conflicts of Interest
When a conflict of interest is identified, the affected party will be removed from the decision-making process. Manuscripts may be reassigned to other editors or reviewers if necessary.

3. Consequences
Failure to disclose conflicts of interest may result in retraction of published articles or removal from the journal's editorial or reviewer board.

4. Commitment to Integrity
The journal is committed to maintaining a transparent and fair process for publication and ensuring the highest standards of ethical conduct.

6 Data Transparency and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to:

  • Provide sufficient methodological detail for reproducibility;
  • Share datasets, software, or code where feasible;
  • Include a Data Availability Statement describing how supporting data can be accessed.

Where data sharing is restricted, authors must provide a clear justification.

This policy promotes transparency and integrity by encouraging authors to share data and methods, ensuring that research findings are reproducible.

1. Data Sharing

  • Authors are encouraged to make raw data, code, and research methods publicly available.
  • Data should be deposited in an accessible repository, except where confidentiality or privacy restrictions apply.

2. Reproducibility

  • Authors must provide sufficient detail regarding methodology, data collection, and analysis to enable replication of the study.
  • The manuscript should include clear descriptions of the research process, including any statistical or computational tools used.

3. Exceptions

  • Data sharing may be limited in cases involving sensitive information or privacy concerns (e.g., human subject data). Authors must clearly explain any such restrictions at the time of submission.

4. Responsibilities

  • Authors: Ensure that data and methods are available to support reproducibility and verification of findings.
  • Editors: Ensure compliance with data sharing and reproducibility requirements during the review process.

5. Consequences

Failure to comply with data sharing and reproducibility standards may affect the acceptance or publication of the manuscript.

7 Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

Authors must disclose the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI (e.g., large language models, image generators, automated writing assistants), in the preparation of their manuscript.

The following principles apply:

  • AI tools may be used for language editing, grammar correction, or technical formatting assistance.
  • AI tools must not be listed as authors.
  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript content.
  • AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, generate falsified results, or manipulate research findings.

If AI tools were used in manuscript preparation, authors must include a statement such as: "The authors used [name of AI tool] for [specific purpose, e.g., language editing/technical formatting]. The authors take full responsibility for the content of this publication."

Failure to disclose AI use when relevant may constitute a breach of publication ethics.

8 Citation and Reference Standards

References must:

  • Be relevant and up to date;
  • Reflect engagement with international scholarly literature;
  • Include DOIs where available;
  • Follow the journal's prescribed citation style consistently.

Citation manipulation and excessive self-citation are strictly prohibited.

9 Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a rigorous peer review process in accordance with the journal's editorial policy. The journal applies a double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Detailed information regarding review procedures, editorial decisions, timelines, and ethical standards is available in the Peer Review Process policy under the Policies section of the journal website.

10 Article Processing Charges (APC)

Comprehensive details on Article Processing Charges (APC), including fee structure, payment procedures, waivers, and refund provisions, are provided in the Article Processing Charge (APC) Policy available in the Submission and Policies sections of the journal website.

11 Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work. Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons license specified in the journal's Copyright Notice.

12 Post-Acceptance Process

After acceptance:

  • The manuscript undergoes copyediting and typesetting;
  • Authors receive page proofs for final review;
  • Only minor corrections are permitted at proof stage.
