Performance Analysis of High Damping Rubber Bearing Base Isolator Application in the MRT Hub Building, Central Jakarta

Abstract
Base isolation is a design strategy applied to increase the resistance of structures to strong
earthquakes by separating the superstructure from the ground. The purpose of this study was
to analyze the performance of the structure using the base insulator HDRB compared to the
fixed base structure. The research method uses a response spectrum method based on SNI
1726:2019. Structural performance is evaluated based on the results of structural analysis in
the form of drift, displacement, base shear forces and forces in structural elements. The case
study discussed in this study is the 12-storey Central Jakarta MRT Hub building with 2
basements. The results of the analysis show that the use of base isolators can increase the
structure's ability to carry the base shear force by 61% in the X direction and by 62% in the Y
direction, reduce displacement, reduce the drift between floors by an average of 43% in the X
direction and 40% in the Y direction. Y direction and reduce the moments and shear forces of
the beam and column elements under consideration.
