The opening pair of articles addresses vegetation and built-up land dynamics: Oknisia and Nugraini (Geomatics Engineering Department, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta) evaluate the performance of the Normalized Difference Built-Up Index (NDBI) in distinguishing built-up land from open/barren surfaces in the arid rural setting of Bayat Sub-district, Klaten Regency, Central Java (doi: 10.12962/inderaja.v19i1.5084, pp. 1–8); meanwhile, Sampelan, Pratiwi, and Baihaqi (Climatological Station of West Nusa Tenggara, BMKG, West Lombok) conduct a comparative correlation analysis of SAVI versus NDVI against Land Surface Temperature derived from Landsat 8 imagery within the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (doi: 10.12962/inderaja.v19i1.4442, pp. 9–17). The second cluster focuses on atmospheric monitoring: Firdianto, Sukojo, Zakir, and Mulsani (Maritime Meteorological Station of Tanjung Perak BMKG; Department of Geomatics Engineering ITS; Indonesian State College of Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics STMKG) perform a spatiotemporal analysis of Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) behavior in relation to the Asia-Australia monsoon circulation over East Java using Himawari satellite data (doi: 10.12962/inderaja.v19i1.5136, pp. 18–31); Pratama and Jaelani (Department of Geomatics Engineering ITS) integrate Sentinel-5P TROPOMI SO₂ retrievals with Sentinel-2 and Landsat-8 hotspot detection via Google Earth Engine to quantify sulfur dioxide emissions and thermal anomalies associated with the November 2024 eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores Regency (doi: 10.12962/inderaja.v19i1.5968, pp. 32–45). The closing article shifts to coastal ecology: Fultriasantri, Alina, Jaelani, Sanjaya (Department of Geomatics Engineering ITS), and Abdul Rasam (Malaysia Institute of Transport, Universiti Teknologi MARA) assess the detection accuracy of mangrove species discrimination in the Pamurbaya conservation area using Linear Spectral Unmixing applied to multi-resolution WorldView-2 satellite imagery (doi: 10.12962/inderaja.v19i1.6548, pp. 46–61). Across the issue, ITS Department of Geomatics Engineering contributes three articles (co-authored by Jaelani in two and Sukojo in one), BMKG and its affiliated institutions (Climatological Station, STMKG) collectively appear in two articles, reflecting a strong institutional synergy between the journal's editorial base and operational meteorology agencies; the methodological spectrum spans conventional spectral index analysis, cloud-computing GEE platforms, subpixel spectral unmixing, and multi-sensor satellite fusion (Landsat-8, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-5P, Himawari, WorldView-2), with Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2 serving as the dominant data sources across four of five articles.
