IPTEK The Journal for Technology and Science is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia. The journal provides a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, and professionals to disseminate high-quality research findings and technological innovations in science, engineering, information technology, and related multidisciplinary fields.

The journal publishes original research articles, communications, notes, and invited review articles addressing scientific and technological issues relevant to industries, governments, and communities. Particular attention is given to research that contributes to the advancement of knowledge, technological development, and solutions to real-world challenges.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an editorial assessment followed by a double-blind peer-review process involving at least two independent reviewers to ensure scientific quality, originality, relevance, and research integrity.

IPTEK The Journal for Technology and Science is published three times a year, in March, August, and November, and provides open access to all published articles, enabling research outputs to be freely accessed by the global academic and professional community.

The journal was previously accredited SINTA 2 under Decree of the Minister of Research and Technology/Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency No. 200/M/KPT/2020, effective from Volume 31 Number 1 (2020), with the accreditation period valid until 2023.

As part of its continuous development, IPTEK The Journal for Technology and Science is committed to strengthening editorial governance and peer-review quality, maintaining high standards of publication ethics, expanding the diversity of authors, editors, and reviewers, and enhancing its national and international visibility and scholarly impact.

Call for Papers


IPTEK Journal is an open-access journal, which means that visitors all over the world could read, download, cite, and distribute papers published in this journal for free. Our journal has a vast group of visitors, a far-reaching impact, and a pretty high citation. We adopt a peer-review model, which insured fast publishing and convenient submission. We’re now cordially inviting you to contribute or recommend quality papers to us. Theses, dissertations, research papers, and reviews are all acceptable for publication.

All topics should relevant to the issues faced by industries, governments, and communities in developing countries. The broad-based topics may be covered by the following knowledge areas:

- Industrial Engineering and Technology
- Information Technology, including information systems and software engineering.
- Science and Its Applications
- Social Science and Humanity

In order to improve the quality of the published articles, since 2021 publication, we introduced the manuscript preparation guidelines. Journal History

 

IPTEK The Journal for Technology and Science is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia. The journal provides a scholarly platform for the dissemination of research findings and technological developments in science, engineering, information technology, and related multidisciplinary fields.

The journal was first published in November 1990, beginning with Volume 1 Number 1. During its early years, IPTEK The Journal for Technology and Science was primarily distributed in printed form, with printed issues continuing through Volume 23 in August 2012.

In response to the advancement of digital scholarly communication, the journal gradually transitioned toward an online publishing system. Since 2014, IPTEK The Journal for Technology and Science has maintained a regular publication schedule of three issues per year, published in March, August, and November.

In 2020, the journal was re-accredited as SINTA 2 under Decree of the Minister of Research and Technology/Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency No. 200/M/KPT/2020, with the accreditation effective from Volume 31 Number 1 (2020) through 2023. This recognition reflected the journal's continuing efforts to strengthen its editorial governance, peer-review process, publication standards, and scientific quality.

Following the accreditation period, the journal has continued its publication activities consistently while further enhancing its editorial management, peer-review practices, publication ethics, article quality, and scholarly visibility. This continuity is reflected in the publication of Volume 35 in 2024, Volume 36 in 2025, and Volume 37 in 2026.

Currently, IPTEK The Journal for Technology and Science utilizes Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3 to support its digital editorial workflow, including manuscript submission, editorial assessment, peer review, production, and online publication.

As part of its continuing development, the journal is committed to strengthening editorial and peer-review quality, expanding its network of editors and reviewers, increasing the diversity of contributing authors and institutions, improving national and international indexing and visibility, and maintaining the consistency and integrity of its publication process.

Building on more than three decades of scholarly publishing, IPTEK The Journal for Technology and Science continues to strengthen its role as a platform for the dissemination of high-quality research and technological innovation and to enhance its contribution to the national and international scientific community.
