Focus and Scope

This journal publishes research articles that approach development as a multidimensional process, one that cannot be reduced to economic growth alone. It welcomes studies of local economic dynamics under the pressures of globalisation and of community empowerment rooted in social capital, culture and local wisdom. It also welcomes work on the sustainable management of the environment and natural resources; development planning and policy grounded in good governance, equality, and inclusion; and the role of technological transformation and social innovation in community development. The journal's scope is organised around five interconnected themes.
